SFUA is collaborating with Aaron Flora and Renewable Farms by providing and overseeing a team of volunteer trainees to support Aaron in operating The Riverbed Farm.  The Riverbed Farm is an aquaponic farm that serves to educate the public, feed the community and re-imagine how our food is grown in urban environments.

This project represents a unique public-private partnership with the City of Anaheim and contains 50 raised vegetable planter beds that utilize aquaponics technology. Aquaponics is uniquely designed system of aquaculture in which the waste produced by farmed fish or other aquatic animals supplies nutrients for plants grown hydroponically, which in turn purify the water. There are many different ways to design an aquaponics farm and we believe this one is a wonderful example of how it can be designed in a both a functional and aesthetically-pleasing manner.

The farm is also a wonderful place for members of the community to host special events.
